Largest ever ship to visit Port of Darwin

The largest ever ship is scheduled to visit Darwin Harbour 10 September 2011 on its maiden voyage. The Energy Horizon, operated by the Tokyo Gas Group, has very impressive stats at over 300 metres long and 52 metres wide; she is over 10 metres longer and 3 metres wider than the Gas Ships that frequently visit Darwin Harbour for Conoco Phillips export LNG. » Read more

Terry O'Connor appointed as DPC Chief Executive

East Arm Wharf Expansion - Draft Environmental Impact Statement

The Northern Territory Government is proposing to expand the East Arm Wharf.  Expansion of the wharf is necessary to meet Darwin’s needs into the future, particularly the increasing demand in bulk mineral export volumes and the increasing business generated by the oil and gas industry. Stakeholder Participation in Safety Inspections

Darwin Port Corporation seeks participation from Stakeholders' safety representatives in a new program of safety inspection “walk-arounds”. The walk-around inspections will be conducted on a fortnightly basis (for each site) and are designed to improve the safety interface between the Corporation and stakeholders in areas where shared health and safety issues have been identified.  The walk-arounds will be conducted by the Corporation’s OHS Manager or Corporate Services Manager. » Read more
