Stakeholders will be aware through ongoing engagement by Darwin Port Corporation Officials, Port User Group Meetings, local and national media that the Northern Territory Government is working to attract private investment into the Port of Darwin through a long term lease arrangement.
Because it is so vital to the development of Northern Territory, Government is working to attract private sector investment into the Port of Darwin with the intention of securing an ongoing partnership to increase the commercial productivity, so that it is best placed to grow and develop in line with the Territory’s expanding economy while, at the same time, freeing up the value in a significant Government asset to enable public monies to be directed towards other key infrastructure development needs in the Northern Territory as part of the development of Northern Australia.
This week, the Department of the Chief Minister, responsible for the project to attract private investment into the Port of Darwin, launched a website intended to inform the community on the process, rationale and timelines associated with this important project.
Darwin Port Corporation encourages stakeholders to visit this website to find out about the process and how stakeholders can be informed.
