Darwin LNG advises that flaring will occur at Darwin LNG between 29 and 30 May 2017. This is part of routine operations at the Wickham Point facility in Darwin, Northern Territory.
This is a planned operation, as part of common business practice associated with the gassing up and cooling down of an LNG carrier.
This activity is covered by provisions within the Darwin LNG Environment Protection Licence (EPL 54-07)
To prevent undue concern in the instance that flaring may be visible, Government, media and operational stakeholders have been provided with this same notification.
No further notifications will be made during this period.
