Upcoming changes regarding the Darwin Port Induction System Payment Terms

In July 2012 Darwin Port Corporation (DPC) introduced the Darwin Port Induction System, this included a new online induction and was incorporated into the annual renewal of the security Port Entry Pass.The online induction was developed to provide a basic understanding of the operations and requirements when entering a Darwin Port (DP) workplace. Since its inception the administration and content has evolved with the changing work environment, and DP has absorbed all costs associated with this process and not raised the fee. » Read more

Semi-Submersible Heavy Lift Ship visiting Darwin Harbour

The semi-submersible heavy lift ship Zhen Hua 33 arrived in Darwin Harbour on Saturday 19 August 2017 carrying the drill rig Noble Tom Prosser. Zhen Hua 33 will take ballast water during Monday night in order to partially submerge to allow the rig to be floated free.Noble Tom Prosser will remain in the Harbour during re-commissioning and is expected to depart for a NW Shelf drilling campaign in late August. The rig was designed to drill to 10,000 metres in water depths up to 121 metres.Planning for the rig discharge in Darwin commenced five months ago. » Read more

This week, two unmanned rafts have been located drifting on Darwin Harbour. It appears that they have been abandoned following the Beer Can Regatta held on Darwin Harbour on the weekend.
