2020 saw the fourth year Darwin Port has sponsored the Total Recreation's Annual Gala event, Dancing with the Celebrities.
The fundraising event prides itself on bringing the community together while raising awareness and vital funds for Territorians with disabilities. Dancers include prominent people from the community who are partnered up with members of Total Recreation to compete for the grand champion title. This challenge proves that despite disadvantage or disability, everyone has the power to achieve amazing things, all while having fun!
This year Peter Raines, Senior Manager Maintenance of Darwin Port had been busy practicing with his dance partner, Amanda Hintz with weekly dance classes in preparation for the finale that was held on 24 October. Peter has been with the Port for ten years, and although very experienced with overseeing the maintenance functions of the Port, says he discovered two left feet with dancing.
Well we disagree..... CONGRATULATIONS to Peter and Amanda for taking out the Grand Champions award at the 2020 Total Recreation Dancing with the Celebrities!
