In July 2012 Darwin Port Corporation (DPC) introduced the Darwin Port Induction System, this included a new online induction and was incorporated into the annual renewal of the security Port Entry Pass.
The online induction was developed to provide a basic understanding of the operations and requirements when entering a Darwin Port (DP) workplace. Since its inception the administration and content has evolved with the changing work environment, and DP has absorbed all costs associated with this process and not raised the fee.
To continue these improvements and keep costs unchanged, from 6 October 2017 DP has opted to modernise the payment process to credit card only terms. By making this change, the costs of processing are lowered allowing for DP to maintain the current fees payable.
What this means for Port Users is that;
You will be required to pay for the Darwin Port Induction System process before being eligible to complete the induction and collect the Port Entry Pass. Benefits to an instant prepayment system include;
- Continue to maintain the current fee ($55.00 inc GST)
- Less administrative tasks and waste
- On request renewal passes can ready for collection, reducing time off site
- Credit card information remains secure and confidential
- 12 month and 1 month induction options can be carried out at any time
You will be able to make the credit card payment following registration and where required, complete the induction later. Please note that the annual pass starts from the date of payment.
DP continues to work closely with Port Users to ensure that the safety, security and environmental operational information provided in the Induction is current and relevant for all persons entering the Port. We thank you for your co-operation.
